When we first started the Kilted to Kick Cancer Fundraising Challenge back in 2011, Virginia Arms Co. of Manassas, VA was one of the first companies to take a chance on a fledgling cancer charity, back when we weren’t even a 501(c)3 charity and they couldn’t even write off their donation.
They gave us a Ruger .22/45 that first year, and that gun still resides in my gun safe as the winner of the inaugural fundraising challenge. They’ve donated a Ruger firearm every year since, and one of this year’s top fundraisers will have a chance at the Ruger .22/45 in this year’s prize packages.
