There Are Reasons I Consider Bryan Bledsoe a Mentor…

… and this is one of them.

I debated the fallacy of SSM with a Borg Supervisor Drone when they implemented it in our area, and all he could counter with was anecdote, and ultimately cut off the discussion with, "Well, it's policy now, and you have to follow it."

My reply: "Only an EMS supervisor could believe it is possible to cut three inches off the bottom of a blanket and sew it to the top, and somehow make the blanket longer."

You can’t argue SSM with people who don’t have to perform it.

I had an incident in the Navy where the reason for doing something was “Well, we’ve always done it that way”. It resulted in a flight deck fire with nine airplanes destroyed and three people dead.

Now if I hear someone say that I know they are an idiot who has no idea why it is done “that way”.

SSM…Same Sex Marriage? Surface to surface missile? Standard Solar Model? Or Wikipedia’s very last entry…System Status Management? I’m guessing the last one. But you could always have fun looking confused and asking which of the above the initials refer to.
