I remember the person you were, and for that reason, we were not close. No two twins were ever less alike, or fought more.

But I will always regret never knowing the person you became. You overcame your demons and helped many others overcome their own, and I'm sure there are many children in South Africa who were richer for having known you.

Rest now, sister. You've earned it.

    Kelly, you are a person who is very compassionate and always thinking about others. I can relate to how siblings sometimes move away, figuratively and literally; mentally and physically. I have a brother who divorced the family at 18 and we never knew why. It sounds like your sister was a strong woman who not only exorcised her demons but used that experience to help others, and for that you can be proud. It’s really unfortunate you never had the opportunity to reconnect and reconcile. Perhaps in the next life. My thoughts are with you am I’m proud to call you a friend.

    AD, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss.  FWIW I just finished reading the Star of Life and was completely drawn into your story.  Wish there were less parallels between truth & fiction, but please keep on writing despite your overhanging clouds of darkness.
