How Very… Interesting

It would seem that the professor at University of Alabama – Huntsville who wigged out and shot three faculty members has done this before.

Amy Bishop shot her teenage brother in the chest in 1986, Braintree police Chief Paul Frazier said at a news conference. Bishop fired at least three shots, hitting her brother in the chest, and then fled with the shotgun before police took her into custody at gunpoint, he said.

The report goes on to say that the police chief in Braintree at the time ordered her released to her mother and ruled the shooting an accidental death.

Three shots fired.

At least one in the chest.

Yep, sounds totally accidental to me. No need to investigate that, no sir.

Strangely, no mention of her leftist politics are mentioned.

I grew up near that the town where she shot her brother. The retired chief was very old school, I think he was chief for 30 years or so. It would not surprised me in the least if the version that the current chief recited is very close to what happened. It's certainly not unheard of for something like that to have been covered up.

See, that is the fun part of living in Mass. We let out the bad guys, lock up the conservitives, and take away your guns so you can't do a damn thing about it. This is one screwed up state. I only hope they will deal with her properly and send her to room temp quick. Although on the news it looks like she will be pushing the insanity defense as she is sure they are still alive. . . . what a nut.

Not at all the same thing. A brother is nothing like 3 faculty members.Besides, she had a quarter century of good behavior (not shooting anyone that we know of) in between. She should get a good citizenship award. This is all being exaggerated. The faculty members were just in the wrong place, at the wrong time. It is dangerous to be around Amy when she is cleaning her gun and arguing about tenure. People die. Accidents happen.

Amy Bishop was a suspect in 1993 mail bomb attempt. Opening mail, when supervising Amy, can also be an accident-prone task. She was just cleaning her pipe bombs, when she accidentally mailed them. Seems reasonable to me.

I work with two guys who went to high school with her. I know y'all be shocked to find out that she didn't socialize and “kept to herself”. Also, buried in the coverage is that after she shot her brother, she left, with the shotgun, and ran to a nearby car dealer. Where she threatened an employee with being shot if he didn't give her a car. Also, the police in the town had to subdue her (they would have been justified in shooting her) and take the gun from her. From here, it seems that her mother's influence in town lead to the police chief and district attorney to sweeping the whole matter under the rug.
