What, They Never Heard of Scooby Snacks?

From the Culpeper, VA Star Exponent comes this piece of news:

Five Virginia Department of Corrections officers have been charged with animal cruelty involving the fondling of a K-9 dog and videotaping the two incidents.

All five officers were training at the Academy for Staff Development in Goochland County to become K-9 handlers. They were charged across the James River in Powhatan County where the kennel is located, at the Powhatan Correctional Center…

“Essentially, he was touching the dog’s penis with his hand,“ Beasley said. “The others were there filming it. That’s actually how we learned of it — there’s a video.”

Two observations come to mind:

“Woof!” mean NO, people!
It’s only cruelty if you stop fondling before the dog finishes.

Thank God I only trained retrievers professionally. The only reward they needed was another retrieve, not a hand job and pillow talk afterward.

3. If you're going to do something stupid/disgusting don't provide the evidence in the form of a video. Really, what are people thinking? There are enough idiots with cameras out there looking for opportunities to embarrass cops, fire fighters, EMTs, corrections officers, without doing it to ourselves on purpose. Leave the frigging thing at home so your wife can video your kids doing stuff they can embarrass them about when they're grown up.

I have to hand it to those deputies. Most of the dogs I've owned and run into in Texas have no problem licking their own gonads. Obviously this information has not yet reached the canine population or deputy population in Virginia.

My real question is what DA watched a video of a dog getting a hand job and felt the need to prosecute for animal cruelty. It sounds more like animal stupidity on the part of the Deputies. After all, they recorded it twice.
