Courtesy of Native American Nurse, a bunch of us from PGHNSTRACH went to the ZZ Top concert tonight. The last time I was at a ZZ Top concert was well over twenty years ago, and a lot of things have changed since high school.

Back then, bare titties were plentiful and you could get a decent contact high by just breathing the air in the arena.

Now, all the boobage was held up by underwire bras and you could get lightheaded on Ben Gay fumes. There were also a distressing number of concertgoers on Hover Round scooters.

Depressing, that.

But still, a good time was had by all, especially Native American Nurse. I strongly suspect the last time an Indian got that drunk, Manhattan got sold for a handful of beads and a few trinkets.

ZZ Top still effin’ rocks, too.

And on a good day, so do I.

These would be people who did not go to Cycles & More for scooter service, since the scooters were actually functional?

I worked First Aid team for a ZZTop concert at Notre Dame many moons ago. They rocked, as did George Thoroughgood, but alas, no gratuitous buzz to be had ;-)

Word today is 'stoup'…I shall gladly have a stoup of ale in honor of Rogue Medic's witty repartee!

Just thought you might like to know that the last few posts I have read try and get me to download some random file, which I can only presume to be malicious.
BTW I really enjoy your writing and look forward with much anticipation the next installment of "Star of Life"!! *looks hopeful*

David, I've done a spyware and virus scan, and it comes up clean. My guess is that it's something from my blogger template, but I've added nothing new recently.

Next time it happens, do a screen capture and e-mail me the image, please.

I rock to at the advanced age of 48 but thankfully I don't need no stinkin' scooter.

And you don't smoke it anymore anyway, you bake it in brownies and fudge because as you know, smoking is BAD FOR YOU!

I looove ZZ Top!!! To many new bands rely on editing to make them sound good. Where the old school bands still rely on sheer skill and talent. I LOVE it.

I love it! One of my patients went to a Def Leppard concert recently and made a similar comment. He was amazed, though, at the number of younger people who showed up.

And yes, he lamented the lack of secondary buzz…probably has to do with all the no smoking areas, too.

I saw ZZ Top at the last Texas Jam in the Cotton Bowl, in 1991. Also playing were Santana and Steve Miller.

What impressed me was how much sound that three guys could put out, with so little motion of their hands. When I mentioned this to my uncle, he remarked that he had thought the same thing when he had seen them in a little bar in Fort Worth in 1971 or so. (The year I was born…)
