I’ve been a fan of Steve McNair ever since he was “Air” McNair with the Alcorn University Braves. Few quarterbacks could sling the football as well as he could, and few played with as much toughness and grit. McNair put up some eye-popping passing stats in college, but in the NFL he proved that he was willing to do whatever it took to win, personal statistics be damned. He was the antithesis of a diva.

And now, he’s been found murdered alongside a young female friend. I hope the investigation doesn’t cast an unflattering light on one of my favorite football players, but I fear it may.

Let’s hope not. I’d like to find at least one professional athlete that doesn’t have feet of clay.

Sadly, I think that your hopes are doomed to be dashed on the hard rocks of reality. 36 year old married guy with a 20 year old woman who is not his wife. Late model Cadillac registered in both their names. Recent DUI arrest for her, with im in the car. This has melodrama written all over it.

You don't know anymore. All I heard from McNair's friends after they found his body was what a good guy he was, what a family man he was and how he was a leader with morals on and off the field, and his charitable work. Now this woman he was with was his girlfriend on the side? On the other hand, I still remember the state of shock I was in when I heard about OJ Simpson, we all know how that turned out.

They've found the gun – sounds like a classic murder – suicide. Ya' know, as I get older, the more I appreciate just how lethal whacked out chicks can be. I'm not speaking about regular decent women folks, but about the crazies. Seems that famous folks draw 'em like flies. Guess I probably better be glad for my wife who has put up with me for so long.
