For Those Of You On Blogger…

What is up with this thing?

See that little circled drop down box labeled “Comment As?”

Whenever I click it, nothing happens. Nada. Zilch. Zero.

I’ve tried to play with my Firefox settings, and it just ain’t happening. On Internet Explorer, it works fine, but I took a solemn vow to never use Internet Explorer unless Bill Gates is holding a gun to my head. So whenever you have that little widget on your blog, I can’t leave comments.

And that just ticks me right the hell off.

I dunno. I just checked his blog & it works fine for me. Maybe it was a momentary glitch? (His is the only Blogger blog I've seen that on, though.)

I've been having the same trouble. I get sporadic luck choosing google account and preview with a single letter of text, then going back and editing.

For whatever it's worth, I'm on a Mac and have never been able to make it work, under either Firefox or Safari, on either of the blogs I've seen with this setup.

You know what ticks me off? The damn scheduling thing isn't working any more. No idea what that "Comment As" part is about. Maybe it's for SUPERBLOGGERS… ;)

That never pops up on my home computer, but it always does on my work computer. (yeah, yeah, I know, reading/commenting on blogs at work is a no-no…) I think it's a security setting thing, since even when I complete it at work, my comment never appears. Good luck, let us know if you figure it out!

Personally I have had more issues with Friefox than I have ever had with Internet Explorer. I understand the lack of love for Bill Gates but I just want to get on the internet without any issues!Just FYI, I'm not having any issues with the schedule thing.

Since it ticked you off so bad I went and checked mine. Nope. Don't have it on Firefox. Maybe it's an option box for chooling your identity like on yours – anonymous, blogger account, etc. :)

Check your popup blocker. Then add that site to the exceptions.

Since you mention the occurs with Firefox I recommend the following:1. Check your pop-up blockers. Depending on your set up you might have Firefox's pop-up blocker running and another one from an anti-virus or firewall program also running.2. If you have the ADblock addon running, try turning that off.3. If you have the NoScript addon running, try turning that off.And yes I have all three running, and most of the time they work great. Most of the ads on webpages I never see, while I can see the content I want to. Every once in a while though, weird things (like what you describe) happen.

You do have JavaScript enabled, right? Because you need it for that drop down to appear.

I'd run Firefox updates, and then do a Java update as well.

Worked just fine for me, after I double-clicked on the down arrow.

I don't miss Blogger at all. Too many annoying issues like these. Feh.

Uh, what's with Pain Chronic Relief? The reply is severely disjointed and has no relevance to the topic at hand. Clicking on the name takes one to a cheap drug site.

Oddly enough, I bought cheap drugs from that spam post and now the drop down works…hmmm, some sort of pharmaceutical ransom of the interwebs?

Get the IE Tab plugin for Firefox. It allows you to tab over and use the IE engine to display a page but it's still running in Firefox. I use it when i want to see what a site I'm designing looks like in IE. Pretty slick.

It's probably just a glitch that blogger uses to punish folks that don't send pics that they said they would… :P

Allows you to comment using a profile from the various blogging platforms: WordPress, TypePad, LiveJournal, Blogger/Yahoo/Google, etc.Basically, if you've got multiple profiles set up, this feature allows you to select which one to associate with your comment.

Maybe he's just messing with you.I guess we can figure out why Happy Medic is so happy. ;-) Don't click on spam (I'm pretty sure Happy Medic did not), but hover the cursor over the link, or right click on it and click on properties to see what the web address is.
