Isn't there some HIPAA law about no photography of patients is allowed without patient's permission?

Not a violation of HIPAA, although other patient privacy statutes in California may apply.

I couldn't get the link to work, but if the photograph was taken outside of Jackson's home, no expectation of privacy exists… even if the photo in question is incredibly unprofessional and in poor taste.

Just showed the pic to all of the people on my crew. We hope to got that it wasn't a medic that took that picture.

The angle, and the red reflection on the pants of the medic who is bagging could indicate to me that it is a telephoto lense.

Far too often, those individuals blessed with a talent to entertain us [in any genre] are given an inappropriate amount of "slack" for their misdeeds. To glorify this child molester upon his death is to insult every child who suffered under his "friendship." The media whores leading this exercise in group denial are merely exploiting his death for high ratings and the income it generates.
