Random Motorcycling Observations From This Morning

1. Most birds are far more agile than a paramedic on a 500 pound V-twin cruiser. Most birds, that is.

2. A mourning dove at 75 mph will bounce off your helmet with nothing more than a loud thonk.

3. A crow hitting your chest at the same speed, however… well, that’ll leave a bruise.

I’ve had plenty of experience at getting bloodstains out of uniforms before, but this morning was the first time it was ever avian blood…

Small bird… sparrow or wren… something like that…Flew up from the road with perfect timing. Between the windshield and me. Busted nose and loosened tooth. I think I lost more blood then than when I sliced my arm while cutting cattails with my pocket knife.

Cycles & More is now resorting to aggressive tactics over your less than complimentary posts about their service. They seem to have held the bike of a pigeon fanicier hostage and forced him to train kamikaze birds to attack you.

Oh, if we're talking about hitting avians with CARS, I once hit a Newark seagull with a '71 Chevelle on the Garden State Parkway (Yes, in New Jersey. Get it out of your system; I'll wait). Done giggling now? Good. Darn bird left a grease spot about four or five inches across where it bounced off of my windshield.Word verification: ousnest. I assume that that's where an ou roosts…
