Why Yes, Happy Hospitalist….

I did feel like a man that day. That’s pretty much every day, though, whether I carry a firearm or not. My views on the Second Amendment have nothing to do with my masculinity.

How about you? Do you feel like an asshole today? Or is it every day?

When you compensate for your inadequacies, what’s your surrogate penis?

Because it sure isn’t your writing ability…

If Happy Hospitalist looks down on YOU for open carry, I wonder how he would feel about me wandering around half the backroads in the county hauling hay wearing a sports bra, jeans and boots, and the Firestar….

That bale wagon gets farking hot on a 100 degree day, especially since you can’t turn the heater completely off.

Wow. I think I am sad. I thought you were different. That you wouldn’t let something like this get to you. Maybe I haven’t followed long enough. Maybe this is like you.
Happy Hospitalist so wasn’t worth this. As a matter of fact I had to go re-read comments to find it.
Then I was sad that I did THAT.
Maybe too much Don Julio. One SHOT too many.

It may have been a bit of a nuclear response, California Girl, but this isn’t the first time he’s trolled my blog, or made snide comments about me on his.

Hi there! Agree with comments above. H.Hospitalist seems to have this intrinsic urge to run everyone down with cynicism. Don’t mind him.

    Interesting blog; will visit often!

I can only assume that you did your best NOT to say what you REALLY felt. ( hee hee) Unfortunately when you blog you do leave yourself open for @#$&heads to comment.
You are at the top of my list of reads ( i even think my husband is jealous of you). I won't scare away that easily.

Happy Hospitalist is a <>HOSPTIALIST<> because he has no social skills and can’t run a practice.

You were a man, a free man. The Appenzellers carry their family swords on election day. Wouldn’t be a bad idea in the states.

Eh, spinless drivel hidden behind a name on the net. Pity he doesn’t understand the joy of carrying a firearm, and knowing how to correctly use it. I get guys gawking at me if/when im carrying the BFs .50cal desert eagle. On the one hand, its damn cool, on the other, they all at some point say “remind me to never piss you off!” CARRY ON!

Oh, hurrah, you carry a gun. Openly. For what? You are the big man on campus?

My opinion of your blog was reduced to zero with your recent gun-carrying hurray.

I find this hilarious, because you guys are similar in that each post is wildly self-aggrandizing and equally poorly written.

Also, I am in the military so don’t assume I’m a commie, but why did you carry a gun on your hip all day?

*sigh* I just don’t understand people who think its a bad thing to carry a weapon. I think it is only a bad thing to carry a gun if you think the correct way to HOLD the gun is sideways IE lil’ G wanna bes that have problems with premature fireing, and such.
In the words of my dear old grandpa, “under no circumstances do you pull the trigger without the intention of killing what you are aiming at.” Words to live by.
Keep at it AD, I for one will continue to fight for the right to bear arms…. to me it is not just words written by some dead dude on an old, faded, and dusty peice of paper.

Uh, because I felt like it, and it’s my legal right.

Just like reading my poorly written exercises in self-aggrandizement is your right, John.

You won’t break my heart if you choose not to exercise it, though.

AD, I hope you continue to post about them evil guns, because then those who are afraid of liberty will continue to poke their heads up out of cover….

Oh, well, that, and the gun posts are neat in their own right.

Because where you live it is allowed, it’s really no big deal. I think the other guys get pissy because they can’t carry where they live, so maybe they feel like you’re showing off or something — maybe? Who knows? Who cares?

For me to read that, it’s simply here’s what you did today.

And that’s why trolls are trolls — creepy, annoying, little things that make everybody else look normal.

Personally I have no problem you carried a gun and wish more people would. Too many hoplophobes are working into turning everyone into victims. They don’t want to protect themselves, so they feel no-one (Except criminals) should be able to. Reminds me of the old saying “When seconds count the police are minutes away”.

Out of curiosity do you carry while on the job? And if so, what has been the general reaction of you patients who notice and react?

AD: Like your blog, enjoy the ‘husband-in-law’ items, having a couple of ‘wife-in-laws’ myself. Not into guns and such myself, but being an opinionated b****, I am jumping in to this one. Not against RESPONSIBLE gun ownership and use, although I’d probably give more than one glance at someone carrying in Walmart, and wonder ‘why?’ My feeling is that if your using them for sport, for fun, fine. If you have one for protection, it’s only good if it’s loaded, safety off and in your hand when you need it. Not usually the case. Anyway: my thoughts on some gun control legislation stuff at: http://randomthoughtsideasgripes.blogspot.com/ for anyone with time to read the lengthy post.
Oh, and the only time I want a penis is when I have to pee in the woods.

    ” Montana Chick said…

*sigh* I just don’t understand people who think its a bad thing to carry a weapon.”

That’s because <><>they<><> don’t trust people who carry guns. In their limited worldview, guns = bad+death, so anyone who carries a firearm is a potential beady eyed killer just waiting to murder as many innocents as possible. The concept that a law abiding citizen would use a firearm to protect themselves or another person is completely alien to them. Only those in military or police departments should be allowed to carry firearms; the general public is too stupid, or too emotional, or whatever the reason du jour is, to be allowed to possess firearms.

Of course any competent student of history knows what will eventually happen when only governmental authorities can legally possess firearms.

Methinks HH spews so people will read his blog. It's never worked for me; I read it once (unconnected to any of his comments) & wasn't motivated to return.

In this case, I think it's merely a case of blog envy. AD has a large, loyal audience. Blog Traffic 101 tells you to go leave comments on others' blogs, and we all know from Oscar Wilde that the only thing worse than having bad things said about you is not having <>anything<> said about you.

And with that in mind, I’ll quit feeding the troll, and go back to praying open carry passes here in Texas.

You go AD! I wish that I could do open carry but I’ll settle for concealed–at least I get to carry. It is an important right and one that gets derided or forgotten all too often.

Like someone else said, I think dude has some serious blog envy.

    Why carry a weapon?

I’m sure you would get a lot of different answers from different people. I’m interested in answer’s from people whose answer would be based on real life experience. For instance, the people who were in the immigration center in New York a couple of weeks ago when a crazed gunman broke in and starting shooting innocent people. If there had been one person there with a firearm and the training to effectively stop that threat the outcome would have been much different. There are further examples too numerous to mention of similiar instances, from armed robberies where the robber decided to kill everybody anyway even after he got the money to random nursing home and school shootings.

People who freak out over an honest man with a gun would be absolutely outraged if a fire occurred in a public building that wasn’t equipped with sprinklers and smoke detectors. Even though the instances of random violence and shootings far outnumber the amount of fire instances that actually take lives. They expect everyone to prepare for a fire but ignore the more prevalent threat.

    Why?

I think the thought of the wolf coming to prey on them and their children is too distressing for them to wrap their mind around, so like sheep, they deny the existence of the threat. When they see the man with the gun it reminds them that evil exist in the world and they are completely unprepared to meet that threat.

Col. Grossman wrote a piece, http://www.killology.com/sheep_dog.htm, which I think perfectly describes this choice and the mindset of those who make it. I encourage you to follow the link and read it.
