Comments

…there’s video up on Paramedic TV of Yours Truly being interviewed at this year’s EMStock.

Make with the clicky and see me trying desperately to appear intela entelli intelig smart.

Lots of other good EMS videos up on there, including more from EMStock 2008.

Enjoy.

sheeeeeet...hell boys....gotta love that music!!! real down home!!< />< />sounds like the music on the HeeHaw!!< />< />Great interview AD...I sure wish you could hike on up here to St. Louie and tell them thare medics how to innnubate em correctally....< />< />we lose so many patients they don't have a back up plan and then well, they just do a shotty job overall...< />< />because of all I see coming into the ER here, I'm a DNR, DNI, DNT....< />< />anyone ever sees me fall, say a prayer and walk away...don't look backkkkkk!!!< />< />btw, does the pen make the writer? cause if so, what kinda pen do you use...you are a great writer!< />< />kT

I think you sounded very smart. You even used the money words like "paradigm" and "continuum." < />Good interview.

Loved the video and the info-certainly gives you something to think about for sure- and thanks for putting the links up to the EMStock videos as well- gives me something to listen to at work with the headphones plugged into the computer!

Yeah you definitely seem like a nice, laid back guy. This is kinda like when you get to see the people on the radio and they don't look the way you thought they would. An ogre? No! A guy to grab a beer with and shoot the breeze? Hell yea :)

Don't worry, Kelly! Ogres are popular now, thanks to Shrek!

Good points and something we should incorporate more of into our education. < />< />P.S. I'm digging the twang. It's hawt. haha

As a newly licensed Basic, I COMPLETELY agree. It seemed like airway was based a bit too much on judgement calls and predictions of a patient's likely outcome (will they need this Combitube down the road or not) than the Basic class provided. It'd be much better to have a more well defined flowchart of what to use and when, just like we use with our Pt. Assesments. It's nice that Michigan Basics can blindly intubate, but the only thing I've been taught was that if you're bagging them, then intubate them, as soon as you can... and I'm pretty sure thats probably wrong on some level.< />< />BTW... I'm from the great white North that is Detroit. After reading your site for about a year, it's weird to me that you have that ol' fashioned southern twang accent goin' on... In my mind's eye (or ear as the case may be) I've always heard you as a fast-talker, comedian kind of guy, but in reality, you seem more like the slow laid back teddy bear kind... who weilds a 1911.

You seem like a nice guy on video!

I agree that a cop that draws and fires his pistol every call isn't a great cop.< />< />On the other hand, perhaps we should draw and fire pistols more often.

Not bad you certainly gave a lot to think about. I would certainly enjoy learning more about what you had to say.< />< />Stephan
