Hi there, I followed you here from crystals blog. Hope you dont’ mind. Sometimes I’m a lurker, but most times I comment alot. My husband was an E.M.T /engineer on our local volunteer department for gosh 15 years. Long story why he still isn’t on there. And before that he was a firefighter in the navy onboard ship. Anyhow, was introducing myself, and I bookmarked you, hope you don’t mind.

I’ve been a long-time reader/lurker of you and a few of your friends. I was reading the comments on your cross post and was relieved I wasn’t the first to leap to your defense. You have more courage than I do to work in the E.M.S. field. More importantly, you have the ability to stay sane while you do it. Something I could not do. I’m too empathetic. I try to help everyone… I can’t. I’d be burned out in a week or less.So my hat is off to you, AD. You are awesome. If I’m ever in need of someone with your qualifications, I hope they can stay as level headed. Hell, I’d even appreciate the barracks humor. Laughter is good for the soul and I’m a jaded woman.

Me and SK were just talking about morbid humor and how it keeps you guys sane (and by “you guys,” I mean those who deal with things the rest of us are too chickenshit to do…EMTs, cops, firefighters, soldiers, nurses, doctors, etc). I do my part to keep up spirits with the naughty pictures. I’m sure that’s totally inappropriate also.

Loved the post over at Crystal’s! and reading some of the other comments- they are right- in order to survive anywhere in any type of medical field you have to have an obscene sense of humor- I just don’t fit in with real people after all these years! Keep up the good work!
