On Courtesy…

Comments

I’ve been lucky in that I get precious few trolls here on my blog. As long as I’m not ranting about fibromyalgia or nursing homes, I don’t get many negative comments.

I run a reciprocal blogroll on my sidebar, as a courtesy to readers who were nice enough to link me on their blogs. Most of them I follow in my bloglines feeds, but keeping up with all of them is an impossible task.

There are a few of them which hold fundamentally different views than I.

Sometimes we vehemently disagree. They stay linked anyway, because even though we may have different perspectives, they remain courteous, and I try to do the same.

Somehow, I linked a worthless prick on my blogroll, someone so bitter and jealous of anyone else’s good fortune, that he can’t resist the urge to pick a fight with me by insulting someone I care about.

Well, that ends today. Courtesy offered only lasts as far as courtesy returned. Said worthless prick is deleted from the reciprocal blogroll as of today.

Go seek professional help, Worthless. You need it.

Otherwise your alligator mouth might overload your hummingbird ass.

    I like your ideas.

Bohemian Road Nurse said:< />< />"I'll BEG for you to put me on your blogroll."< />< />No need to beg, BRN! You've been there for a while. Check out the dropdown list under "Reciprocated Linky Love."< />< />I follow your blog through my bloglines feeds, too.
  • Bohemian Road Nurse...
Hey, I linked to ya. And I have no pride---I'll BEG for you to put me on your blogroll. (But you may not want to----I'm not a troll, but I'm insane.....)

I don't have a blog yet, so I am probably not one to speak, but I was surprised you even had G.S. on the roll, he has minimal talent, really nothing to say. His site reflects the bitter musings of a loser, and the lack of comments on his posts pretty much confirms that. No frinds, no life. Sad really.< />< />Don't let his bitterness take away any of the joy you have. People like that are simply gum on the bottom of your shoe.

Blog-writing tip:< />< />If you're going to ban someone, you gotta say who and under what circumstance (ie hit us with a link, G) so we can all read along. Much more interesting. [hint, hint] Otherwise, ya know, there's always the private banning.

Sorry about your troll, AD. But I WAS relieved to find out that you weren't talking about me! :)
  • Old NFO
What these trolls don't realize is that they CAN be found fairly easy... An early am knock on the door works wonders to "calm" someone down...< />< />Just my .02 worth... :-)
  • Ahab
Shit, now I want to meet this guy.< />< />I encourage the occasional bit of trolling at my place - keeps me on my toes.< />< />Can I have your troll, AD? Puhleeeeease?
  • LB
AD he's just pissed because you get all the women. You know how hot we all get for those sexy EMT uniforms. Especially when there's blood and puke all over it. ;)
  • may
thanks for the link love. promise, i will play by the rules :)
  • Kat
ACK! Sorry you got trolled. blech. :(
  • Babs RN
let it drop -for almost a year now. Absolutely nuts.
  • CanadianERMD
Truly. Unequivocally. Undeniably. Galactically. Stupid.< />< />Also unable to post comments on the blog without owner pre-approval. Nice...< />< />Prozac often helps ;-)
  • LL
Hey, ummm, is this person the one with the initials GS?? Or am I way off base? Cuz if it is, I started off thinkin' he's ok too until he got waaaaaaaaaay too familiar with a friend. And bitterly nasty when she didn't reciprocate his bizarre advances. btw, I've never had trouble with him cuz I think I'm too mean. Being mean helps. It keeps the trolling down to a minimum. Well, being mean and being unafraid to publicly out assholes in spectacular fashion on my blog. hehe
  • the pistolero
< />< />...sometimes that sort of thing results in a sorely-needed arse-kicking, and that's hardly a bad thing. But I am sure you knew that already. ;-) Congrats to you and Babs, by the way. I think that to love and be loved in return is the most anyone could ask for in this life, and not everyone experiences that. May you both live long and prosper.

    I didn't say nuthin' 'bout no boycott.< />< />My thinking runs a lot closer to Strings'... < />< />(Hey, I *did* mention I was Sicilian, right?) :)
  • Ambulance Driver
"Oh, alright.... I'M SORRY already."< />< />ROFLMAO...you're cynical and a smartass, JB. But this guy makes you look like Mary Poppins.
  • Strings
    >Nope, no boycotting.<< />< />That's cool. But I can give you a GREAT price on kneecaps, if he's been snarking on Babs... ;)
  • Jeff B
    already.< />< />;)
  • phlegmfatale
Good for you and Babs. Don't let some bitter old asshat steal your joy.
  • Ambulance Driver
"All righty. I'm with J. Who needs boycotting?"< />< />Nope, no boycotting. He has a right to say what he wants on his own blog. I have a right not to read it if it's mean spirited to me or Babs. He keeps his mouth shut on my blog, and I'll not darken his cyber-door ever again.< />< />Besides, the psychotic fucker doesn't care whether he has readers or not. He's just a common bile duct with a keyboard and a modem.
  • Don Gwinn
I'll boycott him, since I have no idea who we're talking about.< />< />I don't do the "reciprocal" thing. Actually, I do need to expand my blogroll, because there are people like Fixit, Xavier, Babs and Boobs that I read daily from other peoples' links. < />< />I did add Scully right after she linked me, but that was because I was curious, read her blog and thought it was cool.
  • knitalot3
All righty. I'm with J. Who needs boycotting? I'm too tired after Mum's total hip today to figure out who's missing from the blog roll. < />< />If you feel the need, AD or Babs, email me privately to tell me who to stop reading.< />< />I'm loyal to the Good Guys.
  • Queen of Dysfunction
Ugh. Been there myself. Sucks. But good for you for getting rid of 'em.
  • Jay G
Awright, whose ass needs kicking?< />< />I'm hear to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I'm fresh outta ass.< />< />(No. Wait. That didn't come out right...)
  • Ron
AD,< />I really wish you would share your true feelings ... It really is difficult for some of us to read between the lines sometimes.< />Ron
  • Epijunky
Some people are just miserable bastards... < />< />Congrats to the both of you. :)
  • Mark
I goby the old saying, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Although I make exception, in particular that idjit on sabra's Blog. But I never was mean or profane when I did it. If someone wants to show thier butt, let them and ignore them.
  • Babs RN
one of them. < />< />Reciprocal blogrolling is nice but it's certainly neither required nor expected. Some people do it, some don't. Nothing wrong with some control in there. < />< />Love you. ;)
  • Cinnkitty
I feel ya AD. Mine never got any "linky-love" because they didn't have the balls to actually post their real name, real email addie and they went so far as to "Spoof" their ip address so that I couldn't trace it.< />< />The sad part is, they were obviously someone who knows me by the comments they were leaving. What a chickenshit. < />< />Turds are everywhere AD - we just have to keep stepping over them or wiping our shoes off. :)
  • farmgirl
To hell with 'im, AD. If he can't behave according to the "rules" of your blog, or whoever else's, then he can go elsewhere, right?
