The Loopy Libertarian at Chromed Curses has a bleg for the blogosphere in general, and since I think she’s all that and a bag of pretzels, I’m passing it on.

She sits on the board of a brand new charity called America’s Wounded Heroes. Visit their website (still under construction) and read about what they do.

It seems that another site called VA Joe’s is soliciting votes for the most worthy charity. The winner gets a $2,000 donation. The competition, Adopt A Platoon and Soldier’s Angels, are both worthy charities, and one can hardly go wrong with either of them. On the other hand, America’s Wounded Heroes donates not only to our soldiers, sailors and airmen, but also to wounded public safety personnel on the home front – folks like cops, firefighters and EMTs.

Donate to any of them if you will. It costs you nothing to go over to VA Joes‘ and vote for one of them.

Give America’s Wounded Heroes some serious consideration, would you?

I know I am.

    Very Very worthy cause. I wonder what the final stats will be for all the Brain injuries I keep hearing about with all the ID’s and the heads being exposed. Need to see if that is more myth or truth. But any ANY wound in Wartime gets my support and Prayers and Money!Thanks for the PSA (Public Service Announcement- not described for you but for maybe some of the newer persons to TV lingo) and many thanks for reminding us Not to FORGET THE VETS!!!!!!John

    Thank you, sugar!And I don’t think I’m all that and a fat free snack. I find myself to be more of an all that and a fat-laden dessert….ummmmm, let’s go with cheesecake! With chocolate or strawberries! Ooooooooo, since I’m on a blog strike until we get 100 votes, now I have time for the OTHER blog….I wonder if I should take pictures of myself lookin’ like a chocolate coated cheesecake. What do you think? *grin*Seriously, thank you for blogging this. We’re hoping that people really understand that not only the military, but the other public servant jobs like what you do are what keep us sane and civil and well in this nation of ours. If anyone doubts that, they should go back 6 years in their memories and think of how many guys died trying to get INTO the Twin Towers in order to save lives. Not men and women in military uniforms, but men and women in blues and yellows and whites. Like the public expects of the military…we expect you guys to be there when we need you the most and this charity is a way to give back in some small way.

    Heh, we love pretzels in our house too. I have my son brainwashed and when he asks for “dessert,” he’s asking for pretzels or strawberries or oranges pushed through the juicer. *snickers* He’s so gonna be pissed when he realizes “dessert” means something that makes your ass big.

    We’re publishers, so we donate our “hurts” (books that didn’t survive book signings, etc.) to the Wounded Warriors over at Camp Pendleton, CA. There’s nothing quite like watching brave young men missing hands and arms unload boxes of book from the trunk. We can’t do enough for our folk in uniform.
